Arguably the area is best known for its fantastic footpaths and stunning scenery so be sure to pack your walking boots. Whether you prefer a gentle stroll along the River Dee or a more strenuous hilly hike you will be rewarded with spectacular views. Keen mountain walkers shouldn’t miss the opportunity to climb the three peaks of Whernside, Great Coumb and Crag Hill, or there are numerous shorter circular walks to enjoy.

Other attractions and activities include taking a ride on the Carlisle to Settle Railway, exploring the caves at Ingleborough or hopping on board a bike and exploring the area on two wheels. Lake Windermere in the Lake District National Park is less than an hour away so you can enjoy a swim or a sail too!
